If a big crowd is what is clamoring to be fed on Thanksgiving, nothing is easier than a buffet. Very simple, yet very elegant, a sheaf of wheat and gourds let you know that the harvest season is in full swing.

A fancy sit-down dinner is served up to a table bedecked with the best finery -- silver candle sticks, Battenburg lace and golden fruits with gilt berry garland forming a four-foot long centerpiece. The turkeys at each place setting were made from Martha Stewart templates.

A country rustic affair, the first sit-down setting literally blew in. We used three fairytale pumpkins, an assortment of dark fruits, nuts, cranberries and oak and maple leaves gathered from the garden to give this table a homey feel. We elevated the side pumpkins on inverted wooden salad bowls to give them some height.
